India A are trailing in the ACC T20 Men’s Asia Cup 2024 match at the Al Amrat Cricket Ground in Oman. India A batted first and put up a huge total of 183 for 8 in their 20 overs against Pakistan A. Tilak Verma led the scoring with a brilliant display of his skills by scoring 44 runs in 35 balls.

He was well supported by Abhishek Sharma and Prasimran Singh (35 runs in 22 balls and 36 runs in 19 balls). India scored 68 runs in the first powerplay but later the Pakistani spinners troubled India a bit.

After playing a bit quiet, India again opened their hands and displayed a good game. For India, Nehal Wadhera hit a big six on the second ball of the second over of Sufiana Muqeem and scored 11 runs.

Now Nehal Vadhera from India’s side showed a great performance and is catching the boundaries. He hit a huge four on the leg side on the ball of Qasim Akram. Vadhera hit a brilliant 8 runs in this over.

Good bowling from Pakistan

After the dismissal of Prabhsimran Singh and Abhishek Sharma, the spinners of Pakistan A gave a big blow to India by dismissing Nehal Wadhera.

Sufiana Muqeem from Pakistan A bowled a good length ball to Nehal Wadhera which Wadhera missed and he was bowled. Wadhera scored 25 runs in 22 balls for India A.

Immediately after him, Ayush Badoni’s bat turned out to be weak while trying to hit a big shot and he too was dismissed after scoring 2 runs in 3 balls. With his dismissal, India lost another batsman due to which Pakistan had made a complete comeback in this match.

With Mohammad Imran and Rasik Salam hitting superb sixes on the ball, India A crossed the impressive 180 run mark against Pakistan A. Even in the face of superb bowling by Pakistani spinners, India A, under the captaincy of Tilak Verma, posted a respectable score. This was no less than a challenge for Pakistan A and Pakistan A needed a strong start to win this match.

Pakistan A Batting

Pakistan’s opening batsman Mohammad Haris hit a six over mid-on off Anshul Kamboj’s ball in the beginning. But Mohammad lost his wicket on the next ball due to a bad shot. He was trying to play a paddle stroke on the second ball of his innings but he missed it completely. India got its first success in the form of Mohammad Haris.

Pakistan lost their second wicket very soon. And Anshul Kamboj gave another big blow by getting his second wicket. Omair Yousuf gave the ball to Nishant Sindhu while trying to hit it to deep square leg. Now it seemed very difficult for Pakistan to cross the target of 184.

Pakistan’s PowerPlay

Now the first powerplay is over and Pakistan A have chased down the target and have posted a respectable total in the powerplay. Rahul Chahar was brought in for the seventh over but it was a bad decision as Chahar gave away 14 runs in his first over which helped Pakistan to take the lead. Pakistan were in a strong position at this point as they needed just 113 runs from 78 balls. The pair of Yasir and Qasim put India in danger as both scored 50 runs in 28 balls.

Decent bowling

Pakistan in a strong position. And 8 runs came off Vaibhav Arora’s over. The Indian bowlers were now under pressure. Arora bowled a wide to avoid a big shot but still conceded a boundary.

But performing well under pressure is a sign of a good player and he did just that and did a respectable job in keeping Pakistan accountable. Now Pakistan A needed 24 runs from 12 balls. This time Afridi once again took advantage of his height and hit a brilliant boundary. Now Pakistan needed 19 runs from just 10 balls.

Last Over

Now the game is nearing its decision. Abdul Samad is out. This great player of Pakistan A scored 25 runs in 15 balls, which was a brilliant cameo performance. Pakistan had to score 17 runs in the last 5 balls, so now the whole match is tilted towards India.

But Pakistan is not losing hope and Pakistani player Abbas is helping the team to move forward by hitting a four. Now Pakistan had to score 12 runs in 3 balls. The next ground was empty, now Pakistan needed 12 runs in 2 balls.

This is a huge victory for the Indian team. But this match was full of excitement, both the teams showed their best performance. But India defeated Pakistan by 7 runs in this match. Pakistan could not win this match even with the last four of Abbas Afridi.

In this match, Anshul Kamboj displayed his brilliant bowling and took 3 wickets for 33 runs in 4 overs due to which Anshul Kamboj was given the Player of the Match. Along with his 2 successes, he took his third success in the form of Abdul Samad in the last over of the match.
